PL: Od dzieciństwa, wszyscy ludzie żyjący w kulturze zachodu są otoczeni i karmieni wizją możliwości dobrego, dostatniego życia. Zależnego jedynie od wyznawanego systemu wartości jednostki i jej determinacji do osiągnięcia sukcesu. Sukces ten ma być również widoczny spokojnym życiem na dostatniej emeryturze. W klimacie miłych wspomnień z dobrze przeżytego życia. Puste plaże po sezonie. Zachody słońca w kurortach. Widok beztrosko, jak dzieci spędzających czas starszych ludzi. Którzy są jeszcze aktywni zdrowotnie i społecznie. Ten widok mnie oczarował. Zmusił do refleksji i zastanowienia. Fotografując starałem się oddać ten baśniowy klimat i pokazać niejako jak w w krzywym zwierciadle to miejsce i tą wizję, jako kulturową kalkę.
Mój cykl fotograficzny (będący w procesie) opowiada o tym śnie. W pół oniryczny, zanurzony w ciepłym zachodzącym słońcu. Starsi ludzie i powolne znikanie ich obecności. Godne, szczęśliwe, sentymentalne. Bezbolesne, pogodzone i łagodne odchodzenie. Amerykańskie śnienie na ostatniej prostej końca własnej, życiowej historii.
ENG: From childhood, all people living in Western culture are surrounded and fed with visions of the possibility of a good, prosperous life. Dependent only on the individual’s professed value system and determination to succeed. This success is also to be seen in a peaceful life of prosperous retirement. In a climate of fond memories of a life well lived. Empty beaches after the season. Sunsets at resorts. The sight of carefree, childlike elderly people spending time. Who are still active in health and social activities. This view enchanted me. It forced me to reflect and think. When photographing, I tried to reflect this fairy-tale atmosphere and show, as if in a distorting mirror, this place and this vision, as a cultural carbon copy.
My photographic series (which is in process) tells the story of this dream. Semi-oneiric, immersed in the warm setting sun. Old people and the slow disappearance of their presence. Dignified, happy, sentimental. A painless, reconciled and gentle passing away. American dreaming on the final straight of the end of one’s own life story.
